Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet active dry yeast about 2 1/4 teaspoons
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk warm
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 large egg
Filling
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries or frozen
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
Topping
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar for dusting

Method
 

Prepare the Dough
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add melted butter, egg, flour, and salt. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Prepare the Filling
  1. In a bowl, mix blueberries, sugar, and cornstarch until well combined.
Assemble the Buns
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle.
  3. Cut the dough into squares and place a spoonful of blueberry filling in the center of each.
  4. Fold the corners of the dough over the filling and pinch to seal.
  5. Place the buns on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Let them rise for another 20 minutes.
Bake the Buns
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  2. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar.
