Beef and Vegetables
  • 1 pound beef sirloin sliced thinly against the grain
  • 1 cup bell peppers sliced (red, green, or yellow)
  • 1 medium onion sliced
Sauce
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce low sodium preferred
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch for thickening
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil for cooking
  • 1 teaspoon garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger minced
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper freshly ground

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Slice the beef sirloin thinly against the grain and set aside.
  2. Slice the bell peppers and onion into thin strips.
Cooking
  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and ginger, stir-frying for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add the sliced beef to the wok and stir-fry until browned, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add the sliced bell peppers and onion, continuing to stir-fry for another 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
  5. In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce and cornstarch, then pour over the beef and vegetables, stirring to coat evenly.
  6. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  7. Serve hot over rice or noodles.
