Ingredients
  

Filling
  • 2 cans sliced peaches in syrup, drained
  • 1 cup sugar adjust based on sweetness preference
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch for thickening
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon optional
Topping
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter melted
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Method
 

Prepare the Filling
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the drained peaches, sugar, cornstarch, and cinnamon. Mix well and set aside.
Make the Topping
  1. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Add the milk and melted butter to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
Assemble and Bake
  1. Pour the peach mixture into the bottom of a greased 9x9 inch baking dish.
  2. Spoon the topping mixture over the peaches evenly.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until the topping is golden brown.
  4. Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm or with ice cream!
