Ingredients
  

Filling
  • 2 cans sliced peaches in syrup, drained
  • 1 cup granulated sugar adjust based on sweetness preference
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch for thickening
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon optional
Topping
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Method
 

Prepare the Filling
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the drained peaches, sugar, cornstarch, and cinnamon. Stir until well mixed.
  3. Pour the peach mixture into the bottom of a greased 9-inch baking dish.
Make the Topping
  1. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Add the milk and melted butter to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  3. Pour the batter over the peach filling in the baking dish. Do not stir.
Bake
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  2. Allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm with ice cream if desired.
