  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons active dry yeast
  • 1 cup whole milk warm for yeast bloom
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk or cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, combine warm milk and active dry yeast, allowing it to bloom.
  2. In another bowl, mix together flour, granulated sugar, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. Add softened butter, eggs, and bloomed yeast mixture to the dry ingredients; mix until combined.
  4. Knead the dough until smooth and elastic, then let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size.
  5. Roll out the dough, spread with brown sugar, and roll it into a log.
  6. Shape the log into a ring and place it on a baking sheet; let it rise again.
  7. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  8. Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Allow the cake to cool, then mix powdered sugar, milk or cream, and vanilla extract to create a glaze.
  10. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cake.
