Brisket
  • 4 pounds beef brisket trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons salt kosher
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper freshly ground
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 cup beef broth or stock
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce for serving

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. In a small bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. Rub the spice mixture all over the brisket.
Cooking
  1. Place the brisket in a roasting pan and pour the beef broth around it.
  2. Cover the pan tightly with aluminum foil.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven for 4 hours or until the internal temperature reaches 190°F (88°C).
  4. Remove the brisket from the oven and let it rest for 30 minutes before slicing.
  5. Serve with barbecue sauce on the side.
