Ingredients
  

Base Layer
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
Middle Layer
  • 1 cup salsa preferably chunky
Toppings
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup black olives sliced
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro chopped
  • 1/4 cup sour cream for garnish
  • 1/4 cup red bell pepper diced, for flag design
  • 1/4 cup blue corn tortilla chips for flag design

Method
 

Prepare the Base Layer
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sour cream, and taco seasoning. Mix until smooth and well combined.
Assemble the Dip
  1. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly in the bottom of a serving dish.
  2. Layer the salsa over the cream cheese mixture.
  3. Top with shredded lettuce, followed by diced tomatoes.
  4. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese and sliced black olives on top.
Decorate for the Flag
  1. Use diced red bell pepper to create stripes and blue corn tortilla chips for the stars in the top left corner.
  2. Garnish with chopped cilantro and a dollop of sour cream.
Serve
  1. Serve immediately with tortilla chips or crackers.
