Ingredients
  

Base Layer
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
Toppings
  • 1 cup salsa preferably chunky
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup black olives sliced
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro chopped
  • 1/2 cup sour cream for garnish
  • 1/4 cup red bell pepper diced

Method
 

Prepare the Base
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sour cream, and taco seasoning. Mix until smooth and well combined.
Assemble the Dip
  1. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly in the bottom of a serving dish.
  2. Layer salsa on top of the cream cheese mixture.
  3. Arrange shredded lettuce to cover the salsa, followed by diced tomatoes.
  4. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the tomatoes.
  5. Create a stripe of black olives on one side and a stripe of diced red bell pepper on the other side to resemble the American flag.
  6. Garnish with chopped cilantro and dollops of sour cream.
