Ingredients
  

Filling
  • 4 cups fresh peaches sliced and pitted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar divided
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Topping
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Method
 

Prepare the Filling
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, combine sliced peaches, 1/2 cup of sugar, lemon juice, and cinnamon. Toss to coat evenly.
Prepare the Topping
  1. In another bowl, mix together flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in milk and melted butter until just combined.
Assemble and Bake
  1. Pour the peach mixture into a greased baking dish. Spoon the topping mixture over the peaches. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the topping is golden brown.
Serve
  1. Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream.

Notes

For best results, use ripe peaches. You can also substitute with canned peaches if fresh ones are not available.
