Ingredients

Cake Base
  • 1 box vanilla cake mix or your favorite cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
Coating
  • 12 oz white chocolate chips for coating
  • 1 cup red and blue sprinkles for decoration

Method

Prepare the Cake
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a baking pan according to package instructions for the cake mix.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, eggs, water, and vegetable oil. Mix until well combined.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  4. Allow the cake to cool completely.
Form the Cake Balls
  1. Once the cake is cooled, crumble it into a large bowl.
  2. Using your hands, form the crumbled cake into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
  3. Place the cake balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and freeze for at least 15 minutes.
Coat the Cake Balls
  1. In a double boiler, melt the white chocolate chips until smooth.
  2. Dip each cake ball into the melted chocolate, allowing excess to drip off.
  3. Place the coated cake balls back on the parchment-lined baking sheet and immediately sprinkle with red and blue sprinkles.
  4. Allow the chocolate to set before serving.
